he annual celebration of Halloween is observed in most parts of the world on October 31^st. But just where did this celebration originate?

he word 'Halloween' actually has its origins in the Catholic Church. It comes from a contracted corruption of All Hallows Eve. The celebration originated with the ancient Celts and was known as Samhain. Samhain marked the end of one year and the beginning of the next.

amhain began at sundown on October 31 and extended into the following day. According to the Celtic pagan religion, known as Druidism, the spirits of those who had died in the preceding year roamed the earth on Samhain evening.

he Roman Empire had conquered most of the Celtic lands by the end of the 1st century AD. Later, the Romans adapted and absorbed some Celtic traditions as part of their own pagan and Catholic religious observances.

he first instance of a Halloween celebration in the United States was recorded in Anoka, Minnesota in 1921.

hen it's time to vote here in the United States. Voting takes place on November 2^nd. Get out there and do your civic duty as an American. It is a great privilege and honor to elect your public officials.Rememer — if you don't vote, you have no right to bitch after the election.

y this time next week the world will know the result of our Presidential election. Our incumbent President George W. Bush could be reelected. Now that's a scary thought! Or we could have a new President, John Kerry. That's a scary thought too!

All I Need To Know I Learned On The Cattle Range

1. Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco.
2. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.
3. There are 2 theories to arguing with a woman...neither works.
4. Never miss a good chance to shut up.
5. Always drink upstream from the herd.
6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
7. The quickest way to double your money is to fold it and put it back in your pocket.
8. There are three kinds of men:
   • The ones who learn by reading.
   • The few who learn by observation.
   • The rest of them have to touch the electric fence to see if it's really on.
9. Good judgment comes from experience, and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.
10. If you're riding ahead of the herd, take a look back every now and then to make sure it's still there.

I love it! I love it! I don't know whether I am, in my mind, imposing the slow rounded cowboy drawl into the words as I read them or if it is only the clear, down to earth logic that gets me.

However, one of the things I enjoy about cowboy humor, poetry and logic is it's clear message and simplicity.

Living in the west as I do I get many opportunities to see, hear and watch performances of Cowboy Poetry. What a treat.

Yet this style of humor has deep lessons for all of us. It keeps on telling us that regardless who we are, or who we think we are, we are still only as human as the next person and deserving of no more regard or respect than the lowliest of men.

It's called being part of the human condition. We are all members of the human family and as human beings, worthy of respect as any other human being. Oh! you may be placed in a spot where you can do great things. I hope you are. But that does not entitle you to greater regard or respect than the lowliest among us. Think on that for a while.

I had lunch the other day with a friend who is a funeral director. He told me about a politician, who, coming late for a funeral, wanted to be seated at the front, where he could be seen. It came down to the "Well, don't you know who I am?" question.

My friend gently told him that he knew who he was, "and which person seated up front would you have me remove so you can sit there?"

So you are elected to office. Does that make you king? Or does any other position make you king?

Cowboy logic says keep your feet on the ground. Arrogance, self importance, and similar stupidity will usually get you more difficulties than favors. It is the old saying, "Those who place themselves first shall come last, and those who place themselves last shall come first."

More than that, these owners recognize that a multiple channels-to-market sales strategy provides the best coverage and get market leadership.

How they define the niches then ? Let's recap:

1. Identify customers needs, that means to see what specifically needs do the current customers have in common.
2. Motivate customers explaining that the product covers the needs Develop your own product/service, or find existing ones, that satisfy the needs you've identified from your research.
3. Reward customers offering a good price, a permanent support and assistance. Create your unique selling proposition, website content, and advertising campaigns. Stay close to your customers answering questions and providing available support.

To succeed in all above, you need a plan. My suggestion is to create a micro-plan for the very beginning, because that way is easy to see how much this plan is just plain copying the leader or the extending present product ideas. Try to be innovative, this is the way to big success.
